Web Proof
With the latest version of LAGO Web Proof, Comosoft will take the final steps in creating a completely web-based correction workflow solution, freeing you, the customer, of the necessity of having a full version of Adobe Acrobat. This saves money on licencing costs and on administration of the software itself.

Navigation throughout the media and document structures has also been greatly improved – this always offers direct access to the media the user used the last time he/she was logged in. The user now has access to search folders for documents within the media as well. Furthermore, when a document is selected, a preview of the document will be shown so that the user has an idea of the page content before opening it.

Webservices
With the latest versions of LAGO several time and data intensive actions moved into LAGO's new Web Services offerings. For processes which usually require a large amount of bandwidth and processor power on the client side (LAGO CS, LAGO Explorer), this provides a lot of benefits – especially for workspaces located at agencies or external offices, far away from the high speed network surrounding the central LAGO database. Functions that have been moved to LAGO Web Services include Page or Element Layout, Variant Synchronisation of Data and Copying of Catalogs, Documents and Elements.
As this change is purely “behind the scenes”, the user will notice no change… apart from the performance.

Adobe CS 5.5 und Quark 9
With LAGO 4.2.3 our official support of Adobe CS 5.5 and QuarkXPress 9 begins. Please note that CS5 and CS5.5 are not compatible with each other and only one version should be used for your production system – there will also be two different versions of the LAGO CS for InDesign Plugin.

System requirements
We would like to make an announcement concerning changing system requirements in context with our December release.
We will make a step forward regarding current technologies and cut support of older ones. In detail this means that in LAGO 4.3 we are going to support only MacOSX 10.6 and 10.7, whereas MacX 10.4 and 10.5 are no longer supported. Furthermore LAGO 4.3 will require Java 1.6 on client and on server side.

Please consider this information if you were planning an upgrade.
